San Marcos Maternity Session

Some sessions just mean a little more.

I’ve had the honor of photographing Nicole and Peter through so many seasons of their story—from their proposal, to their engagement, and now stepping into this new chapter of becoming parents. Getting to document this part of their lives felt especially meaningful.

For their maternity session in San Marcos, we kept things simple with a field of tall, wispy golden grass and open space all around. It was one of those settings that doesn’t need much—just a little movement, soft light, and room to slow down.

There’s something about maternity sessions that feels a little quieter. A sense of anticipation, of waiting, of everything about to change in the best way. And with Nicole and Peter, you could feel that in every moment—so much excitement, but also so much calm.

We spent the evening wandering through the field, letting things unfold naturally. Nothing rushed, nothing forced—just capturing the way they are together in this season.

It’s been so special to document their story over time, and even more meaningful knowing that since this session, they’ve welcomed their baby and stepped into this next chapter of their lives.

Sessions like this are such a beautiful reminder that your story doesn’t have to be captured in just one day. From engagements to maternity to family photos, each season deserves to be remembered in its own way.
